Samsung S5230 Tocco Lite Review

The Tocco Lite is Samsung's answer to the LG Cookie. Available in black, gold, pink or silver, it's a bargain touchscreen phone. Although it lacks 3G, it offers a fabulous fun user interface with easy access to Facebook and YouTube, plus all the features that you'd expect: a 3.2 megapixel camera, video recording, music player, FM radio with RDS, memory card slot and Bluetooth. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Review

The Sony Ericsson X10 Mini is a half-size version of the original X10. It's an ultra-compact smartphone running Android and with impressive features such as a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, aGPS with Google Maps, a fast processor, support for 16GB of memory and a good battery life. Connectivity excels with WiFi and HSPA. But the small screen size presents a challenge.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Review

The Sony Ericsson X10 is a superphone! It's a touchscreen smartphone running Google's Android operating system and layered with Sony Ericsson's unique user interface specially designed for the phone. It's supremely powerful, but very easy to use too. Tech specs include an absolutely enormous 4 inch screen, an 8.1 megapixel camera, GPS, HSPA, 1GB memory plus an 8GB memory card, and a monster battery.

T-Mobile G1 Review

The T-Mobile G1 is the first "Googlephone" running the Android operating system. The G1 has a large touch-sensitive display and a slide out QWERTY keyboard. It's best features are its mobile internet applications such as Gmail and Google Maps, as well as built-in GPS and WiFi support. Weaknesses include the dire camera, lack of memory, difficulty interfacing with a PC or Mac and general "beta" feel to the whole thing. We'd recommend waiting for the next Android phone, or choosing the iPhone 3G instead.

Motorola ROKR E8 Review

The Motorola ROKR E8 is a first-class music phone with a whopping 2GB of memory built in, and support for an additional 4GB memory card. It's a sleek, minimalist phone with a context-sensitive touchscreen that works very well. Other features include an FM radio, 2 megapixel camera, web browser, quadband and an excellent battery life. Highly recommended!

Motorola RIZR Z8 / MOTORIZR Z8 Review

The MOTORIZR Z8 is Motorola's most advanced phone yet. It's a 3G smartphone in a slimline slider format. It offers high quality video calling, an excellent media player, high-speed HSPDA data access and the power of Symbian applications. However, we've deducted points for the difficult and unreliable user interface and poor battery performance.

Nokia 6700 Classic Review

The 6700 Classic has smart looks, a quality metal finish and a high specification, and has been one of Nokia's biggest selling mid-range phones in the second half of 2009. Top features include a-GPS, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, a music player, an FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth, HSPA and a memory card. But it isn't a reliable phone. Things to watch out for include freezing / shutting down and breakable screens.

Sony Ericsson Satio Review

The Sony Ericsson Satio is probably the best camera phone released, with its 12 megapixel camera and xenon flash. It's a touchscreen Symbian smartphone, with a great music player, aGPS with Google Maps, HSDPA, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. But poor battery life, the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack, a sluggish response from the user interface and a dodgy initial batch mean that it loses one star. Available in Black or Silver.

BlackBerry Bold 9700 Review

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is an upgraded version of the original Bold. It retains the full QWERTY keyboard of the original, but replaces the trackball with a new improved Trackpad, and is smaller and lighter too. It's the perfect device for mobile e-mail, with a high-res screen with user-selectable fonts and the legendary BlackBerry email interface. Other highlights include 3G HSDPA, up to 16GB of memory, WiFi, GPS and outstanding battery life. Now available in White.

BlackBerry Curve 8900 Review

In a nutshell: Smaller than the Bold, but packing in nearly as many features, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is one of our all-time favorite BlackBerries. Ideally-sized, with a brilliant QWERTY keypad and a hi-res screen, this is an almost perfect device for mobile email. Other top features include a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, a video camera, a music player, GPS, a heavy duty battery, WiFi, and plenty of memory. The only significant thing missing is 3G.

HTC Wildfire Review

Incorporating the latest version of Android and HTC Sense plus a superbly responsive capacitive touchscreen, the Wildfire is both easy to use and supremely powerful, with access to thousands of apps. Combined with a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, a media player, GPS, Google Maps, fast internet, a fast processor, plenty of memory and a big battery, this is quite probably the best smartphone in its price range. In a nutshell: The Samsung Wave S8530 (or Samsung Wave 2) is a souped-up version of the original Wave, with a larger screen. It's a cutting-edge phone with a 3.7 inch Super Clear LCD display, a fast processor, 2GB of built-in memory, a 5 megapixel camera with HD video and assisted GPS. The Bada operating system provides all the core smartphone functionality, but third-party apps are very thin on the ground.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 Review

In a nutshell: The Torch is a groundbreaking phone for BlackBerry, with the new BlackBerry 6 operating system and a slide-out keyboard design. The new OS is a definite improvement over the previous version, but won't alienate existing users. The slide-out keyboard and capacitive touchscreen work very well. The Torch comes with integrated social messaging, a 5 megapixel camera, GPS, a media player, excellent connectivity, outstanding battery life and plenty of memory. Its negatives are its chunkiness, its high cost and its slow processor.

The only real problem is the price.

In a nutshell: The LG KP500 is a touchscreen phone for those on a budget. It's a compact device but with a large touchscreen display that's easy and fun to use. With a 3.2 megapixel camera, a media player, an FM radio, Bluetooth wireless connectivity and a memory card slot, this phone has all the essentials. Although it misses out on 3G and a top class camera, it has most features that most people will want, and for the money you'd be hard pressed to find anything better than this! Now available in Pink
